Tharu Cultural Dance

The Tharus are one of the ethnic groups with the biggest number in Chitwan. Their culture and way of life are distinctive.

The Tharu dance, which is performed by the residents of Chitwan's villages to greet you, is a performance that highlights their culture, art, and way of life. By performing the dance publicly and using Dhols and Tharu sticks throughout the performance, the local performers, who are dressed in ethnic garb, invite you to learn about their culture, their community, and themselves. Each dance performed during the event has a deep significance that demonstrates the harmony between the participants and the surrounding animals. The Tharu Cultural Program comes highly recommended to all tourists.

The Tharu dances provide spectators with nonstop entertainment. Some of the well-known elements of the cultural performance include the dances Danda Nach (Stick Dance), Ago Nach (Fire Dance), and Mayur Nach (Peacock Dance). Every evening, as well as on Demand, the program runs for 45 minutes. The cultural program has aided in increasing global understanding of Tharu culture.
